rezilient Creature Library
The Pacific Northwest feels alive in a different way.
The mist rolling across the water.
The quiet strength of cedar trees.
The way the tide moves in and out like a steady breath.
Growing up surrounded by these lands and waters, I always felt like the animals weren’t just animals. They were teachers. Messengers. Family.
This space is my way of honoring that.
Welcome to the Rezilient Creature Library — a growing collection of stories, symbolism, and cultural meaning behind the beings who shape Coast Salish storytelling and Pacific Northwest Indigenous tradition.
Each creature you see here carries layers of meaning — in art, in oral history, and in everyday life. Some are powerful protectors. Some are clever tricksters. Some remind us to nurture, adapt, or lead with courage.
And now, through these chibi characters and QR stickers, they get to travel into your homes, your journals, your laptops, your kids’ backpacks — and hopefully into your hearts too.
Why I Created This
Rezilient has always stood for strength, adaptability, and the quiet resilience of Indigenous people — especially here in the Pacific Northwest.
But I also believe something deeply:
Traditional art and storytelling can be shared in ways that are respectful, educational, and welcoming.
This library exists to:
- Create access to learning
- Spark curiosity in kids and adults
- Share cultural meaning thoughtfully
- Celebrate the living spirit of these stories
- Keep storytelling alive in modern ways
Whether you’re Native, married into Native family, raising curious kids, or simply someone who feels drawn to this art — you belong here.
A Note on Story & Respect
The stories and meanings shared here come from Coast Salish teachings and the broader traditions of Native peoples of the Pacific Northwest, including those connected to the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe and neighboring Salish communities.
These stories are living. They are traditionally passed down through families and elders, and they can vary between tribes, villages, and even households. What you’ll find here is not a complete or official telling — it is a respectful reflection shared with care and gratitude.
I believe stories are meant to connect us — not to be owned, extracted, or simplified. My hope is that this space feels like an introduction, not a replacement for listening directly to Native voices, elders, and tribal communities themselves.
Culture is alive. It breathes. It belongs to the people who carry it.
Thank you for stepping into these stories gently.

For the Collectors
Each chibi creature sticker links directly to its story page.
Collect them. Learn from them. Gift them. Talk about them.
If you’re a parent, these make beautiful little conversation starters:
“What do you think Raven teaches us?”
“Why do you think Salmon always returns home?”
If you’re an adult, maybe one will feel like it mirrors something in your own life right now.
Inspired by Tradition, Made for Everyone
Rezilient exists to bridge old and new.
Formline and watercolor.
Story and modern design.
Heritage and everyday life.
The creatures here are not just symbols.
They are reminders.
Of resilience.
Of balance.
Of community.
Of spirit.
Thank you for being here and for honoring these stories with me.
With love,
Amber
